Slate Rock (Trail 102), accessed from Yellow Gap Road near Brevard, NC, is a short, scenic singletrack descent threaded with stream crossings and a waterfall—an ideal connector for a longer loop with Pilot Cove, Pilot Rock, or Laurel Mountain. The route is not extremely steep but sees light use, so expect occasional blown-down trees, wet rock sections, and variable undercut banks that reward careful riding and route-finding.
